Thanks to the hard work of Ben Dickey (Ben is the son of Juliette Lively Dickey and Ben Dickey from the Burke County, GA line) the Lively Family Website is up and running. Ben has done an outstanding job making the website both colorful and interesting. Bens donation of his time and energy is truly dedicated to furthering the cause of the NALF and is absolutely commendable. The main page of the website can be found at The main page opens with our impressive Coat of Arms and allows visitors to click and go to many other features of the website. At one page, browsers may view family photos taken at past reunions. One more click allows them to look at the picture up close and view faces of all the family with excellent clarity. Another page has information about the upcoming 2000 reunion and hotel specifics. Still another link goes to past copies of the newsletter "Livin Lively". Dont forget to visit the historical article on "How It All Began". Be sure to see the full explanation of the components of our Coat of Arms! Another feature is a link to a genealogy forum site. At this site, people have already logged in hundreds of messages related to genealogy searches and their own findings. This is truly one of the most exciting pieces Ben has included. Many of the postings to the forum thank Ben for putting up the site and for bringing such a forum to all of the Livelys across the country. And as you visit, dont forget to sign the guestbook and register your comments on the page. It remains to be seen how this will impact the association in terms of membership and attendance, however, many visitors are asking questions about the next reunion location and date. I invite each of you to visit the site and review all the features. For those of you without internet service, many libraries and colleges offer the use of computers to browse the web. I encourage you to see all that Ben has done for the association (at absolutely no charge!) Send Ben your comments at his email address: Thanks again to Ben for all the hard work he has donated to the posting of this exciting website! Doug Lively |
